Herbal Time-Warp

Fast forward 10 months.... wow!

All teas are on sale until 11/21/2008, 10% off your tea purchase. Stock up now for your favorites before winter.

For some reason, this has been the week for broken bones! Two dear clients have suffered broken bones, one required surgery. Both are on the mend and have shipments of Bone Healing tea en route. As much as I love making my teas to help, take care you people! Quit taking those tumbles!

My quest for Master Herbalist fairs well. I have Honors and a 4.0 average from college at this point. I am well into taking NAT210 (Anatomy/Physiology part 1 of 3). So far so good, provided I can just keep up and keep going.

Please don't hesitate to email with questions or product inquiries!

Wishing you Herbal Health...!

Growin' Pains

Wow. So much time has just flown by. And quickly!

It's now mid-January. I've finished my Certified Herbalist course-work. I have a few more days (oh they are precious and few!) before my long education to become a Master Herbalist begins. My time off has been well spent. A -lot- of changes to the website and many new products were developed for sale this month.

I have a decent sized customer base, split pretty evenly between equine and human. I also joined the American Herbalist Guild which, in time, will provide me with more support and professional support.

Meanwhile, even buried in all this New England snow my plans for the garden are ever-evolving. In a few weeks I'll begin to germinate the first seeds and I just keep looking forward to spring and sunshine again!

Phase 3 -- PROFIT!

Hmm. I think I’m sufficiently stuck in Phase 2.

What is Phase 2, you ask? Good question. Phase 2 is. “_______________!”

Of course, Phase 1 is Underpants but you, Good Reader, already knew that.

I shipped out a bunch of stuff today. Some orders, some promo. All I know is that the day started early and my lab was a mess. It’s finally looking more “g-friendly” and less like a Tornado ripped through it. The sad but also fortunate part of having my own lab is I get to experiment on my family. Today’s experiment? Me, getting rid of this budding sore-throat-headache-plague. I drank lots of tea. I mean a lot of tea.  I also started some new extracts a-extractin’. My lab smells like a mix between a pizzeria and greenhouse. I think I kind of like it.

I have ONE jar of Nutritive Body Balm left. That stuff flew out of stock in less than a week. Must make more, which is fun. Same with the Lavender Mint Lip Balm.

I anticipate being done with my Certified Herbalist coursework in the next 6 weeks. January will see me on to starting to work towards my Certified Master Herbalist & Naturopathic Practitioner.

Busy, busy me!

Lush delights

Apparently I was hit with a burst of motivation yesterday. 4 new products created, 3 are available on the website. My daughter has been teething like mad so I really wanted to create a high calcium supplement for her. Thus, Hi-Cal Tea was born. It’s delicious, I might add. However, because not all babies and kids like tea as well as Our Bug does, I made it in syrup form also. Equally delicious, I might add.

I really wanted to create a body lotion. I had this gorgeous  Calendula infusion that I finished last week. I didn’t need any more Healer’s Salve and so, I decided to try to create a highly nutritious, luxurious lotion. I dare say it worked, the end result is a silky smooth, delectable lotion lightly scented with citrus. Welcome Nutritive Body Balm! I’ve packaged it in 4 ounce jars, I may look for something a bit more decorative as we approach the holidays. My husband and I really enjoyed “Beta-testing” this product last night, I think our hands and arms are quite pleased with that fact.

Speaking of beta-testing, I tried out my “Dream Pillow” formulation and sewed up a pretty case to contain it. The Husband is quite enamored of it, he loves the soothing, intoxicating scent. I’m not sure I can sell this particular one but I will make others. It worked great too, drape it over your eyes or around your neck. Fast asleep in no time at all!

Actually, with the time change perhaps I will take advantage of that pillow right now. Happy snoozing!

Lickety Splitz

I’m amazed at how absolutely giddy I am over the fact that I made some delicious lip balm. I mean, dance around the ‘lab’ giddy. It must be the aromatherapy. Lavender and Mint, can’t go wrong with that. It’s a good thing I’m doing, making these products. I know this because it feels good, feels right.

And of course there’s the fact that my kitchen smells like perpetual summer, musky and fragrant with the herbs I use for my potions and notions.

Off to make tea!

Blog this!

Yes, yes. A blog for my mad herbal experiments.

Oh, the fun we shall have!
